1. How to select a word unit after selecting a word set? Top
A word unit to a word set is what a chapter to a book. Right-click either the left or right part of the blackboard, a context menu will pop up to let you select a word unit. WordHacker can memorize the word set you chose, so you only need to select a word unit when you start WordHacker the next time.

2. What do Include & Exclude mean? Top
Include means words are included in a certain word list, while Exclude means words are not included in a word list. So more word list you select, less words you will get. For example, if you select TOEFL Include & SAT Include so you will get the words not only included in TOEFL list but also included in SAT list. If you select TOEFL Exclude and SAT Include at the same time that you will get the words included in SAT but not included in TOEFL.

3. Can I import my own word list? Top
Sure, you can do it by clicking the Import My Word List button in the Settings page. Follow the instructions on right top corner in the Import My Word List box to import.
And you can directly open a word list file in Select Words dialog box too. Please see the sample word list files in the SampleWordList directory.

4. Can I import words' definitions in my mother language into WordHacker? Top
Yes, you can do it in the Import My Word List dialog box. Load the word list with the local definitions and import it to WordHacker.

5. How can I view the illustrations related to each word? Top
The Images page automatically presents the illustrations related to each word if your computer can get access to the web site: www.google.com.

6. Can I hear the pronunciation of each word more than one time? Top
Sure, each word can be pronounced for a maximum of ten times. You can set the occurrence of the pronunciation to meet your need in the Settings page.

7. Can I add a voice file corresponding my word? How? Top
You can. Save your voice file as *.wav and put them in the WordAudio file in WordHacker directory, WordHacker will show the word and pronounce it.

8. Can I only browse the words that I do not know? Top
Yes, you can. The filter function in the Settings page can let WordHacker only present you with the words that match the Learn Level in the current word unit.

9. How can I set the Learn Level of a word? Top
There are three levels designated to assess your own comprehension of a word, namely: Mastered, Gray, and New. Double-click the colorful star below the Run button, you can change the Learn Level of the current word. The alternative is to press the key 1, 2 or 3 in the numeric keypad. The Key 1 stands for Mastered, 2 for Gray, and 3 for New.

10. Can I edit the definition of a word? Top
Yes, do it in the Edit page. Also you are able to edit word's morpheme, remember tips, examples.

11. How to add my favorite web site? Top
Well, under Settings section, click on Add my favorite button, follow the instructions in the box to do. OR double-click on search web, add your web site directly in WordHacker.INI.

12. Are there shortcut keys for Next Word and Play Pronunciation? Top
Yes. The Key -, + and 0 in the numeric keypad functions equivalently as Previous Word, Next Word and Play Pronunciation. On porpagele computer, the key PageUp and PageDown stand for Previous Word and Next Word respectively. To jump to the first word, press the key Home and the key End for the last word.

13. Is there any way we can list words and print? Top
In Export tab, click on the bucket button WordHacker will export all words in the word list you select, then click on the Print button to print the word list directly. OR save the list as .txt or other form you like to print.

14. Can I import the Lean Level information from the old version? Top
Yes, you can use WordHacker Learning Information Transfer(WHLIT.exe) to do it. Export your learning information from WordHacker old version to a file first. Then import the file into WordHacker new version. You can lauch WHLIT by choosing Start|Programs|WordHacker|Learning Information Transfer.                       

15. How to fix the problem with "Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed."? Top
When you see the error message "Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed."
while you run WordHacker.exe,it means that WordHacker can not access Microsoft JET 4.0 OLEDB Provider.MS JET is a lightweight dapagease engine. Please click the links below to download and install MS JET 4.0 Service Pack.Its size is about 2M. After you install MS JET 4.0 Service Pack, run WordHacker again. It should work well.

16. What's the difference between Golden Edition and Mini Edtion?Top
Golden Edition supports all words pronunciations, while Mini does not. And the size of Golden Edition is bigger than Mini Edition.

17. What's the difference between Registered and Unregistered WordHacker?Top
Registered WordHacker is full functional edition, while Unregistered one has some limits in pronunciation, GRE test items and Examples etc..
