Settings

 

The Settings page opens more options to you based on your personal preferences.

  • You can change the color and font of the items on the blackboard.
  • You can modify the visibility of certain items on the blackboard.
  • Words are defined both in English and in one¡¯s native language. WordHacker provides each word with Chinese definition as Local Definition. For learners of other counties, you can add definitions in your mother language into WordHacker by clicking the Import My Word List button.
  • You can specify your learning scope according to your Learn Level by checking filter.
  • Definition can be presented with a delay of several seconds to allow yourself have time to recall the meaning of the current word.
  • You can get access to some web sites to search the current word in WordHacker.
  • You can clear Show Times and Learn Level of the current word.
  • You can import your own word lists.

User Interface Settings

Import My Word List

Many users wish to set up new word lists corresponding to their own pace of learning or academic interests. WordHacker satisfies such need. You can click the Import My Word List button to establish more than one word list. You can import the brief definition in your mother language!



Import your own word list

Tip :

You can import a word list with the definition in your mother lanuage into WordHacker by checking the second check box. Example :

hello ****

Here **** is the definition of the word hello in your mother language(local definition).

Then you can check the Use Local Definition checkbox on to show the local definition on the blackboard.

If your word list includes some phrases, please put a | mark between phrase and it's definition. For example:

boil over | boil and flow over the sides of a pan
hand in hand | with your hand in another person's hand
